About

Rocky Mountain Bible Church exists to enjoy and advance God’s glory by applying biblical truth to make, grow, and send disciples of Jesus Christ. Biblical Truth – The Bible is God-inspired truth that reveals God himself and tells the true story of God’s redemptive work throughout history (2 Pet. 1:21-22; 1 Sam. 3:21), so it is foundational to our spiritual lives (Jn. 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). Everything we believe and do at RMBC is therefore rooted in biblical teaching, including our beliefs about God (1 Sam. 3:21), how we worship him (Jn. 4:24), how we live (2 Pet. 1:3), and how we function as a church (1 Tim. 3:15). We give Christ the spotlight in our gatherings by reading (1 Tim. 4:13), preaching (2 Tim. 4:2), and singing the Bible (Col. 3:16). We personally yearn for the Bible so that we may spiritually grow by gazing upon Christ’s transformative glory (2 Cor. 3:18; 1 Pet. 2:2). Worship – God is supremely worthy and satisfying (Ps. 63:1-5; Rev. 4:11), the only proper object of worship (Ex. 20:1-6). At RMBC we therefore desire to cultivate hearts that love, honor, and rejoice in God (Ps. 29:2; Mt. 22:27-28; Phil. 4:4). We strive to worship God individually in every thought, word, and deed of our daily lives (Rom. 12:1; 1 Cor. 10:31), and we worship God collectively by gathering for joyful, reverent worship each Sunday (Ps. 2:11; John 20:1; 1 Cor. 16:2). Our corporate worship includes singing praises to God (Ps. 81:1-3); prayer (Acts 2:42); proclaiming the Bible (1 Tim. 4:13); free and sacrificial giving (Acts 4:32-34; 1 Cor. 16:1-2); and observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:23-26; Matt. 28:19-20). Christian Community – God has adopted us into His family and united us to one another as members of Christ’s body (Rom. 8:14-17; 1 Cor. 12:12-27). Because God has shown us grace and poured his love into our hearts (Rom. 5:8; Eph. 2:1-10), we are committed to extending love and grace to one another at RMBC (1 John 3:11-18; 4:7-21). We desire to forgive as God forgives (Eph. 4:32), to sacrificially serve one another as Christ served (John 13:1-17), and to bear one another’s physical and spiritual burdens (Acts 4:32-34; Gal. 6:2). We embrace God-given diversity and pursue unity around the gospel (Rom. 14:1-15:13; Eph. 4:1-6), not uniformity around personal preferences or traditions. We strive to develop Christ-centered relationships that transcend age, appearance, ethnicity, or class (Gal. 3:28). Evangelism – RMBC strives to make disciples by clearly, lovingly, and unashamedly proclaiming the good news of God’s saving grace in Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 1:16-17). As ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:18-21), we call people to be reconciled to God through personal repentance and faith in Jesus as the only Lord and Savior (Acts 2:38; 4:12; 16:31). God is on a mission to glorify himself by redeeming people from every people group (Rev. 5:9-10; 7:9-10), so we desire to advance God’s kingdom and global glory by sending and supporting local and international church planters as God allows (Acts 13:1-14:28; Rom. 15:18-33). In our evangelistic efforts, we humbly depend on the Spirit’s power (1 Thess. 1:5), compassionately build redemptive relationships with the lost (Matt. 9:35-36), and embrace the necessary risks and sacrifices involved in proclaiming Christ across the street and around the world (Acts 13:1-14:28). Growth – God’s goal for all Christians is to conform them to Christ’s image (Rom. 8:28-29), so by the energy God provides, we labor to see Christ formed in every believer at RMBC (Gal. 4:19; Col. 1:28-29). We emphasize the Bible (Acts 20:32), prayer (Heb. 4:16), and Christian fellowship (Eph. 4:29) as essential means of God’s transforming grace. We long for each member to experience ever-increasing delight in an ever-deepening relationship with God (Ps. 16:11; Phil. 3:7-8). We seek to equip every member to speak the truth in love and exercise spiritual gifts so that RMBC grows into a mature representation of Christ (1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4:7-16). By God’s grace, we desire to develop leaders at every level of the church and to mentor the next generation of ministry leaders (2 Tim. 2:1-2). Gospel of Jesus Christ All of our values are infused with a passion for the gospel. The good news of Jesus Christ is the central message of the Bible (Luke 24:25-27). So, we proclaim Christ in all of our preaching and teaching (1 Cor. 2:2). The gospel is God’s power for salvation (Rom. 1:16-17), allowing us to be forgiven of sin and satisfied in a right relationship with God (Ps. 63:1-5), so we herald the gospel unashamedly. Our worship is grounded in and fueled by the gospel (Rom. 12:1), and we let the gospel shape and unify our community (Eph. 4:1-6). We depend on God’s grace in the gospel to nurture and guide our growth (Eph. 4:7; Col. 2:6-7). In everything we do, we seek to be shaped by the cross, not the culture (Gal. 2:20; 6:14).
