Plainfield Baptist Church

We are a local congregation that gladly cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention and subscribes to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Among our greatest desires is this: to be ever-growing as a church that obeys the command of Jesus to "Go...and make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19). What kind of sermons can you expect to hear on any given Sunday morning at Plainfield Baptist? The Bible instructs us to "preach the word...in season and out of season" (2 Tim 2:4) and the "whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). This has leads our pastors to preach gospel-centered expositional sermons through individual books of the Bible. What kind of music can you expect to hear in a Sunday morning corporate worship gathering at our church? Our church embraces congregational singing. This leads us to sing music that exalts Christ and encourages us with the comforts of the gospel and promises of God's word. It also leads us to sing songs and hymns—old and new—that are both doctrinally rich and musically singable.
