Oak Shade Baptist Church

Oak Shade Baptist Church was founded on July 4th, 1857. A Southeast Texas-based Baptist church, we exist to love and know God, and to equip His people to accomplish His mission for His glory. As of late, our weekly Sunday service attendance averages around 75 people. Our church is located in Tarkington Prairie, Texas which is about 5 miles outside of Cleveland, Texas (50 miles north of Houston) off HWY 59. Tarkington Independent School District is our home school district that has a student population of approximately 1,900 students. Based on recent demographic studies, that number is estimated to grow by approximately 1,000 over the next 10 years. From a county standpoint, Liberty County is among the fastest growing counties in the state of Texas due to large developments taking place in our area.
