New Hope Baptist Church

We are a Bible-believing, Southern Baptist Church, located in Watertown, NY. As a SBC church, we confess the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, which accords with "9-Marks" and "T4G's Affirmations and Denials". Our mission is: "Living life together by bringing New Hope in Jesus to all people". We have seven core values (three for life, four for ministry) that reflect the name of our church: "N.E.W. H.O.P.E". "N" for "new birth", since we proclaim that unless a man, woman, or child is born-again by grace through faith alone in Christ alone, they cannot savingly know God nor have hope of being with Him for eternity (John 3:3-5; Ephesians 2:8-9). "E" stands for "empowerment by the Holy Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18), meaning what ought to follow from conversion as a repeated, intentional, obedient heeding to Scripture and surrender to Christ's Lordship (Colossians 3:16-17). "W" for "Word of God", the Bible being the inerrant, infallible, sufficient, clear authority as originally given and conveyed through every copy, translation, on all matters for this life and the one to come (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). "H" for "hungering after God", which is what we desire for people that attend and then join our church (Psalm 73:24-25; Hebrews 10:23-25). "O"for "ongoing discipleship and evangelism", (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). "P" for "proclamation" by means of expository preaching, teaching, taking Romans 10:17 as our departure point, "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." "E" for "exaltation", meaning that the goal of music we sing, sermons preached, lessons taught, and the loving of one another and our neighbors, is to life up on high Jesus Christ (John 12:32; Acts 4:12).
