Mountain View Baptist Church

After beginning as a Sunday school program at the Mountain View schoolhouse, God was pleased to call certain men and women by His Holy Spirit to establish a church. Mountain View Baptist Church was formally established by 43 charter members on June 1, 1947, for the worship of God and the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which has continued to this day. Our purpose is to glorify God by gathering and equipping people to become passionate followers of the Lord Jesus Christ through expository preaching, Bible teaching, relationship building, and missionary outreach. Mountain View Baptist Church has always been an SBC church until 2021 when we separated. Soon after Mountain View Baptist Church joined the Reformed Baptist Network. Theologically, we are considered reformed Baptists and substantially hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. Our church is made up of approximately 17 members, and we average about 25-35 people in our Sunday morning worship service, including children. We are a smaller church but have the potential to grow in our community.  We generously support and engage in missionary efforts in our local community and throughout the world. Our church government is best described as elder-led, congregation-ruled. We are governed based on a church constitution approved by the congregation. Mountain View Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor with a strong commitment to serving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, who consistently maintains a growing and deepening relationship with Him. The ideal candidate for this role is marked by biblical expository preaching and shepherding. He will demonstrate a heart for discipleship and evangelism, will relate well with people of all ages, and will creatively adapt to new ways of impacting the congregation and the culture without compromising God’s Word. He will implement visionary leadership toward the mission of seeking to treasure Christ – together. Year Church Began: 1947
