Galveston County Church

GCC is a church in friendly cooperation with both the Southern Baptist Convention and SBTC at the state level in Texas. GCC holds the BFM2000 as it's statement of faith. Galveston County Church is a 2020 merger of two previous congregations: First Baptist Hitchcock (1945) and a church plant from Galveston Island (2018). The church is now located in the center of the County, hence the new name. Senior pastor Taylor Wehrle, a former intern at Capitol Hill Baptist Church was called as pastor of GCC in the fall of 2021. GCC aims to fulfill Acts 1:8 in the surrounding area and spread God's glory to the nations as a healthy local church.
