Biblical Baptist Church of Prayer - NYC

As a Sovereign Grace Baptist church, BBCPNYC’s confession of faith is the 1st London Confession of Faith (1646 edition). Calvinistic Reformed Baptist Theology generally agrees with Covenant Theology’s teaching as a reflection of faith. However, we find Covenant Theology not adequate to BBCPNYC’s faith considering that it does not promote a sharp distinction between Israel and the Church; rather, both groups are deemed as one continuous people of God with one final destiny. That being said, BBCPNYC agrees with the New Covenant Theology, which affirms that the Mosaic Law (the “Law”) is all fulfilled in Christ. Therefore, the Church, who is under the New Covenant (aka the New Testament), is not under the Law. Combining with the 1st London Confession of Faith (1644), then, eternal salvation is by faith-alone, in Christ-alone, and this is by grace-alone, which is authoritatively revealed in the Scripture-alone, it is all for the glory of God-alone. In addition, BBCPNYC holds the theological belief that our Lord Jesus Christ, as the Son of God, is absolutely co-equal to God the Father, along with the Holy Spirit, who also is co-equal to the Father and the Son. Again, the Son is co-equal, co-Lord, and co-eternal to the Father and to the Holy Spirit.
